Oh my days - I've been told off by too many ninja-like librarians for not having enough 'bio' on this page...and seeing as I still struggle to write anything decent about myself I'm going to try saying it all with more photoooooos and less words.

I’m one shiny, bald-headed dude!

When I was a kid I was a real nerd. A complete and utter bookworm. I devoured books faster than the local bookstore could renew the shelves of the sci-fi and fantasy genres that I was addicted to. It was tales of distant lands and wild adventure that did it for me and it was these that inspired me and fired me up to travel and seek adventures of my own.
Base camp Mt Everest at age eighteen (of all the countries I've visited I dream of Nepal the most...)

My family was understanding and were cool enough to encourage my passion. At the age of fourteen I would work weekend and holiday jobs; mixing cement and labouring and with the wages that I saved I would travel up and down the British Isles. When I was sixteen I started travelling to Paris, Marseilles and Nice with a similar minded friend. When I was eighteen and my own man I packed my bags and really started travelling.
Grafting long hours as a chef paid my way to ride the slopes. (Loooooook! I had hair!)

France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos and so many more. Some place I would stay and work for weeks or months, other places a year.
I'd chase travel destinations like a greedy magpie seeking baubles

As well as travel books gave me a thirst for action and I had to chase all the extreme sports that I could.
The night before a fight I could never sleep properly and two hours before the fight I always had to hide my shaking fingers from the other fighters and coaches.

After being inspired to travel by the worlds I found within books I turned full circle and it was the adventures and experiences that fired me with the urge to write.
I always wanted to do gymnastics but it wasn't until I was twenty four that I had my first opportunity to try it out. I'm not a great gymnast but I love it :)

Being an author is a dream job. The travel and freedom that it provides and to be creative while being my own boss is too sweet to describe.

Imagination and being able to think outside the box is a talent that every child should have the opportunity to enjoy

Oops! Additional post as I'm always being asked for principles and ethos - so these are what I try to set my life by:

Respect given is respect earned

If you want it, work for it

Mistakes are to be treasured for the invaluable lessons that they provide

If you want to do something, do it! Life is far too short

A day without straining to improve either your body or mind is a wasted day

The things that you really want don't come easy...but that's cool - just work harder

After several incident-filled years of travelling the armpits of the world Marcus Alexander decided to pack in all serious attempts at reaching maturity and instead embraced the much more suitable world of parchment scribbling for a living.

‘Who is Charlie Keeper?’ is Marcus’ artfully addictive novel that comes first in a planned trilogy involving the spirited and often outrageously blunt Charlie.

Marcus Alexander has a fondness for causing mischief, knows how to run really, really fast when he’s in trouble and knows how to duck out of sight when someone points the long, bony finger of blame.

If you feel as though you should get in contact with this ill mannered rascal and you honestly have nothing more constructive to do with your day than you can always reach him at….
